There are two main different types of hydrants – each with its own particular features. The right choice will depend on factors like water pressure, particular requirements and so on. Some different types of hydrants are

1. Wet Barrel Hydrants

Its directly attached to the pressurized water source. The barrel, which is above the ground, is filled with water. The valve is operated through a long stem that extends through the top. The dry barrel hydrant is a popular choice wherever there are chances of freezing.
