Why is Important?

  • Ensures compliance with OSHA standards that require employers to provide specific safety trainings to employee.
  • Fewer accidents and injuries. Properly trained employees will be involved in fewer accidents in the work place. Accidents cost companies money in terms of lost time, decreased production and potential fines. Proper training alleviates many financial headaches.
  • Reduced insurance premiums. In addition to the costs that immediately follow an accident companies face increased premiums down the road. Providing safety programming can help prevent accidents and can even reduce company’s premium.
  • Improves employee morale. Providing Safety training to employees makes them feel their employers’ cares about them. This increases job satisfaction and reduces employer turn over.
  • Trained employees are less likely to be injured on the job so it is unlikely they will be spending time away from work because of accidents. This help in saving lost time.
  • Stronger reputation for your business. When employees are happy with their work place they talk about it. By providing safety trainings the employer creates happier employees and a good reputation as a good place to work will grow.
  • Getting employees to take ownership of their own safety in the workplace isn’t always an easy task, but a good first step to employee involvement is providing adequate training. When workers see the company cares about their safety they will be more likely to take an active role in company’s safety system.
  • Well trained and knowledgeable employees can help keep an organization current with their industry by being more productive and innovative. Employees who feel confident about their work often find ways to improve upon current procedures
